Situated in the quiet upmarket neighbourhood of Hillside in Bulawayo the city of kings and queens and seated at the base of a small rocky hill is Sethule lodge and conference centre. Founded as a family business by Mr Felix and Mrs Nhamo Tshuma and opening its doors to the world in 2004 with the idea to fill in a gap in the hospitality space. The facility seeks to cater for the discerning traveller as well as provide convenience to the same. The facility is 5kilometers (5minutes drive) from the city centre and is adjacent to Matopos road giving easy access to Matopo national park, Tshabalala Game Sanctuary, Khami Ruins and hillside dams. The city is central to travellers from both Botswana and South Africa and is a haven for those enroute to Victoria Falls.

The Lodge boasts a serene environment with lush gardens, home to  a variety of flora and a haven to an impressive array of birdlife. It is an attraction to the bird watcher as well as enticing through its natural scenic and amazing panoramic views.

The establishment provides exclusive accommodation with all non-smoking ensuite rooms with double/queen and king sized beds, amenities and conferencing. Priding its self with 22 rooms all equipped with satellite TV, air conditioning, Telephones, fidges and internet Wi-Fi connectivity. All rooms are tip top providing a home away from home for the corporate executive. At nominal cost are laundry facilities for the convenience of the guest.

Airport shuttles are well catered for. The establishment has a 15 seater as well as a 7 seater vehicle to cater for different group sizes and to bring about convenient and smooth movements of our guests to and from the airport. There is 24 hour security at the lodge safeguarding the entire facility.

Highly motivated staff have been key to the success of the lodge and conferencing home. The centre experiences high repeat bookings as our patrons cannot get enough of the scenery, service and overall experience of the lodge. Indeed the centre is designed to leave an impression of excellence.

Stardard rooms offer a desirable standard of luxury for its guests. All rooms fitted with air-conditioning as well as coffee/tea making facilities. Interior décor differs from room to room creating a new experience at every visit. One of the rooms sits a level above others, enjoying altitude and a balcony. Scatter cautions and framed abstract art lie in positions that draw the eye to a hand full of awe whilst simultaneously ushering a unique taste of class. The rooms are all connected to satellite TV, fitted telephone connected via switchboard and fridges, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The idea of space and flow within these rooms plus design truly earns the tile ‘executive’. The executive rooms have more features such as a mini lounging area. Those overlooking the garden have rocks incorporated into the buildings architecture giving a feeling of harmony with nature whilst enjoying privileges of modern luxury. Wi-Fi connectivity, Coffee/tea making facilities, satellite TV, fitted telephone connection via switchboard plus air-conditioning are all included in the rooms.

Sethule conference centre caters for corporate and organisational needs to meet, strategize and conference. The conference room is situated at the heart of the lodge, positioned beside the pool at the foot of a steep rocky hill of nature. Conference material such as white boards as well as an LCD projector are provided for by the venue in a conference space that houses up to 80 guests.

Serving a full English breakfast, a la carte meals for individuals and buffets for groups can be arranged for at the lodge’s restaurant. Guests have to option to sit indoors and gaze and the garden outside while enjoying the décor and design of the restaurant. Alternatively is a patio decorated with ethnic coloured art frames to the walls that allows you to gaze into the garden enabling one to enjoy nature whilst being served to a treat. In a bid to be infant friendly, the restaurant offers a baby feeding seat.
The last meal is served at 9:30 pm.

One may sit outdoors on one of the garden chairs in the garden to enjoy the greenery, iconic view of the rocky hill plus architecture. Cravings for a more active day are well catered for by the swimming pool as guests seek to cool themselves, dip their feet in the water or sit just beside the pool on a well
cautioned rocking swing couch. Alternatively guests get to enjoy drinks bar and braai above on the hill whilst gasping in the aesthetic view of the place.
